Conditions require >10C difference, >90% humidity, calm wind. Historical formation is tied to founded 1431/1443 by Yamana Sozen and Otagaki Mitsukage, remodeled 1580 Akamatsu Hirohide Hashiba Hidenaga, abandoned 1600 Ikeda Terumasa. Elevation 353.7m, area 400m x 100m. Best season late Sep–Nov sea of clouds, sunrise to 08:00. Access JR Takeda 40 min walk or 10 min Tenku Bus. Fees 500 yen, high-school 300 yen. Opening 08:00-18:00, winter 10:00-16:00, closed Jan 4-late Feb. The site shifts clearly across seasons. Late May to June brings fresh green and soft light, summer offers cool highland wind, autumn burns with broadleaf color, winter sharpens landform with snow.
