About this place

Nagasakibana is Satsuma Peninsula southernmost cape in Yamagawa, Ibusuki. Volcanic rock nose shape formed by outer rim of Ibusuki caldera. View west to Mt Kaimon cone. Within Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park with special natural monument wild cycad habitat, souvenir stalls and parking garden serve tourists. Called Ryugu-bana as legend Urashima太郎 legend origin. Ryugu Shrine enshrines Toyotama-hime goddess of matchmaking. Visitors write wishes on shells and dedicate in pot for true love. Sunset frames Kaimon peak, prime photo power spot popular.
