Fugan Unga Kansui Park near Toyama Station North Exit spans 9.7 hectares, redeveloped from a former Fugan Canal boat basin opened July 1 1997 as Toyama Prefecture's major waterside urban park. Listed among Japan's 100 Historic Parks, it connects Toyama Bay to Jinzu River via canal once used for lumber transport. The Starbucks Kansui Park branch is frequently ranked world's most beautiful Starbucks by media for its floor-to-ceiling glass walls and canal terrace sitting. The Tenmon Bridge completed November 4 1999 links two observation towers offering 360-degree views of Tateyama, canal, and bird sanctuary island hosting herons and kingfishers.
