Started 1948 in Gushikawa now Uruma on US base when Foremost Company supplied dairy to boost US troop morale after World War II defeat. Factory only for Americans until 1963, when local workers allowed leftovers occasionally, then flagship Parlor Big Dip opened in Makishi Makiminato Urasoe adjacent to Highway 58, along with Foremost Blue Seal Ltd established Feb 9 1963. Name derives from Foremost prize bull Foremost and Blue Ribbon prize best dairy Blue Seal. Climate adaptation gave texture that is rich yet light fast melting suited to 30 Celsius humid air. The heritage recipe 100 plus variations recorded in Orange Book still stored, base for modern tweaks.
